BusyBook outage: what happened and what we're doing next
BusyBook experienced a serious outage starting on May 24, 2026, that left the platform unavailable until June 8, 2026. For this entire period, many of you couldn't access your dashboards, booking sites, or automations, and some of you had only just migrated to BusyBook from other providers. We know how disruptive nearly two weeks of downtime is to your business, and we're genuinely sorry.
The root cause was a failure in our hosting environment that took the BusyBook service offline on May 24. Your core data remained safe in our off‑site backups, but the platform itself had to be rebuilt before we could bring everything back online. After extensive recovery and infrastructure work, the app is now fully back up as of June 8, 2026.
We've used this outage as a hard reset on our infrastructure. We moved BusyBook to a more robust server setup that is designed for running production workloads, added better monitoring and alerting, and ensured that services automatically recover if the underlying machine restarts. Improving reliability is our top priority, and this infrastructure work is the first of several steps we're taking.
As a gesture of apology to those directly affected by this May 24–June 8 outage, we're adding one month of free BusyBook usage for impacted accounts. If your account was affected, this extension will be applied automatically.
