There are approximately 348,000 licensed massage therapists in the United States, and roughly 73% operate as solo practitioners or in small practices. Despite being highly skilled clinicians, these practitioners spend an estimated 10-15 hours per week on administrative tasks: confirming appointments via text, writing clinical notes from memory after hours, chasing down payments, and managing their business from personal phones and spreadsheets. Burnout from admin — not from the clinical work itself — is the leading reason therapists leave the profession within five years.

The Solution

BusyBook is an all-in-one operating system for independent wellness practices. Key capabilities include:

• AI Front Desk — An AI assistant that answers client messages, books appointments, handles follow-ups, and manages cancellations through the therapist's own phone number. Clients text naturally; the AI handles the rest.
• Smart Scheduling — Online booking, business hours management, availability engine, and automatic waitlist backfill when cancellations occur.
• Digital SOAP Notes — Clinical documentation with body mapping, AI-assisted note generation, and session timers — designed for practitioners who document between clients, not after hours.
• Payments & Invoicing — Branded checkout, receipt delivery, and revenue tracking.
• Marketing Automation — Reactivation campaigns, review requests, birthday follow-ups, and social media scheduling — all automated.
• Revenue Analytics — Dashboard with appointment metrics, client retention insights, and financial reporting.

Customer Validation

BusyBook was developed in close collaboration with Stella Peters of Uzuri Massage in Dallas-Fort Worth — a solo massage therapist who served as the platform's first user, design partner, and sharpest critic.

Solo massage therapists are the largest and most underserved segment of the $20.3 billion US massage therapy market. The addressable software market for solo and small-practice therapists represents approximately $196 million. BusyBook differentiates from incumbents (Mindbody, Vagaro, Jane App, MassageBook) through AI-native architecture, solo-first design, invisible infrastructure, and a closed-loop ecosystem that provides full-funnel attribution from social post to booked appointment.

Vision

Today's launch is Phase 1 — solo massage therapists. The platform architecture is vertical-agnostic, built to serve the broader beauty and wellness economy. Phase 2 introduces a social and community layer for practitioner discovery and collaboration. Subsequent phases expand into esthetics, yoga, chiropractic, physical therapy, and wellness coaching — with the same AI-powered infrastructure underneath.
